The William and Katherine Devers Program in Dante Studies is one of the world's leading centers for the study of Dante.

The history of the program began in 1995, when William and Katherine Devers of Winnetka, Illinois, provided the program with a major endowment. Later, in 2000, the Ravarino family of St. Louis, Missouri, endowed the Albert J. Ravarino Family Directorship in Dante and Italian Studies. Professor Theodore J. Cachey Jr. serves as director of the Devers Program. 

The Devers Program at the University of Notre Dame supports teaching and research about Dante across the Arts & Letters curriculum, in particular in the Medieval and Italian Studies areas, through the sponsorship of conferences, lecture series, seminars, visiting professorships, and class visits, as well as rare book acquisitions in the Zahm Dante Collection. It also sponsors publication of research through the Devers Series in Dante and Medieval Italian Literature, published by the University of Notre Dame Press, and other digital resources in partnership with the Italian Studies Program at Notre Dame. The Devers Program also funds an annual program of research and travel grants and scholarships for faculty and students.
